What to see

You travel from the Prairie Valley Station to the Trout Creek Trestle Bridge and back to the Station. The Trout Creek Trestle Bridge was the largest on the KVR and third largest of its kind in North America at the time it was built in 1913.

Visitor guidelines

The ride on a regular train ride is approximately 90 minutes long. Great Train Robberies are closer to 2 hours in length.

Coaches are not air conditioned. However, all vintage coaches are equipped with sliding windows that can be opened on hot summer days.

There are no washrooms on board the train, however there are washrooms at the station and at the trestle bridge where the train stops briefly.

The station and our train cars are wheelchair accessible. There are wheelchair accessible spots available to book online.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on the train, dogs and other pets are also not permitted to be held in the station. We ask that you do not leave your pets unattended in your vehicle.

Pre-arrival checklist

When you book you may select (if available) your preferred car type (Open Air Car or Vintage Coach) and select your seats. If you have friends or family with whom you’d like to sit with, please remind them to book their seats next to you as soon as possible.

You should arrive at the station no later than 30 minutes prior to your departure. The train departs the station at the scheduled departure time and is unable to wait for late arrivals. Refunds are not available for missed bookings.

We have a 48 hour cancellation policy (Regular trains only). All cancellations will be subject to a $5 cancellation fee. Service fees are non-refundable. Note: There are no refunds for special event trains.

We unfortunately do not have a full concession facility but we do offer beverages and packaged snacks available in the gift shop. You are invited to bring your own lunch and use our picnic shelter either before or after your train ride.
