Your golden larch getaway will start from Vancouver. After renting a car in Vancouver in the afternoon, you’ll make the two hour drive to Hope, where you'll spend the night. This is a relaxed, riverside town 45 minutes from E.C. Manning Park, where you will travel tomorrow. You’ll spend the afternoon soaking up beautiful views of the Cascade mountains on the drive, and cozying up in your accommodation as the crisp autumn sunset starts.

Today, you'll travel to E.C. Manning Park and hike up on the Frosty Mountain trail to explore the Golden Larches. Your hike will begin from the Mount Frosty trailhead, approximately a 50 minute drive from Hope. The trail can be very busy during Larch season, so we recommend arriving at the trailhead between 7-9am. Mount Frosty isn’t the easiest hike in the region, so we recommend it for intermediate or advanced hikers. You’ll start seeing the golden trees about two-thirds of the way into your hike. From there, you can either climb another few hundred meters up to the Frosty Mountain summit, or stay in the pass and enjoy the larch views (please note that only advanced hikers comfortable on scree and loose terrain should attempt the summit). The return hike to the summit will take approximately 8 hours, less if you only choose to visit the Larch plateau. Once you've finished up your hike, you may wish spend some time on Lightning Lake or enjoy a meal at Manning Park Resort before heading back to Hope for a good night's rest.
